Some enterprise agreements offer an alternative to the salaries and conditions set by the award. Others refer to certain attribution conditions and set other conditions. If you are a party to a signed enterprise agreement, you must apply for SAET authorization within 21 days for SAET to approve it. After approval, the agreement will enter into force. A party to an enterprise agreement may apply for authorization, registration or employment with SAET. SAET may also reconcile or give instructions when parties are working to negotiate an agreement. After intense negotiations over the past few weeks, we are very pleased to note that the elected TAFE committee of the AEU last night approved an agreement in principle for TAFE teachers. The new agreement will be as follows: The AEU TaFE committee has also approved a programme of sub-branch assemblies to inform members of the agreement in principle before workers vote on the new agreement. This agreement applies to all TAFE stand-alone institutions. Salary increases mean that a teacher in the T5 classification will increase his or her salary from $85,613 currently to $105,877 by November 2021 – meaning our teachers will be the highest paid in the country. By the end of the agreement, teachers with a full AQF6 teaching qualification will also be able to access another additional point with a salary of $109,207. SAET`s role is to approve the agreement if it meets the specific requirements of the Fair Work Act 1994. A copy of the agreement will be made available to members as soon as the final technical development is completed, as well as further advice and information as soon as it has been developed.

An enterprise agreement sets out the conditions of employment of workers covered by the agreement. It is negotiated through a premium security network to help employers and workers define working conditions that will support their needs. The support, activism and campaigning of the UAE members were the reason why we reached a very good agreement in principle, which respects the important work that TAFE teachers do every day and offers the recognition they deserve. The agreement also better recognizes the central part of their role, ensuring that students receive adequate support in order to obtain the best possible education and training they can. To view the official copy of an enterprise agreement, please contact SAET Registry. Electronic copies of the following enterprise agreements are provided by the parties and should not be classified as official versions. The official version of the agreement is a signed and sealed copy of the Commission`s Act, which is generally available for public consultation. As a result, PSA TAFE SA has indicated that a consultation can only really take place when the above information is available; and that the EPI needs a 10-day consultation, as included in TAFE`s “consultation and change management instruction,” as soon as all the necessary information becomes available.

PSA has asked TAFE SA to answer the above questions by Monday, February 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Once the EPI has received a response and all necessary information is available, we will hold formal consultations with members. Members who have initial comments or questions about this restructuring can email them to PSA pending further information to allow for a full and informed consultation. Please receive the corresponding forms via the SAET Forms page. The Public Utilities Association (PSA) participated on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, in a First Stage Consultation Session with employees, during which TAFE SA presented its proposal to restructure the Educational Business Units. The main staff reductions proposed are the directors of education (37 current roles out of 25 current roles) and principal lecturers (41 roles in progress out of 28 roles in progress). However, it is also proposed to reduce staff by offering the positions of Director of Business Operations, in order to reduce from five to three roles.
